Another Road Project For Debate

North Talbot Rd. and Concession Rd. 6 in Windsor are set for makeovers including multiple roundabouts, bike lanes, sidewalks and trees.

The environmental assessment is now complete but because of so many other large infrastructure projects waiting to get started in the city, Councillor Hilary Payne says this project isn't even in the five-year capital works plan.

It's something he feels needs to change, as he thinks Concession Rd. 6 still looks like a county road that's been swallowed by Windsor.  "Where it narrows for a railway crossing, people have to walk on the road just to get through," explains Payne.  "It's just not safe."

The entire project is estimated to cost $11.9-million, and will come before Windsor Council during next year's budget deliberations.
