Festeryga Working To Raise Profile

The federal Liberal candidate for the Essex riding is starting to ramp up her campaign.

Audrey Festeryga is going door to door to help voters get a better sense of who she is and what she stands for. She tells BlackburnNews.com tackling high unemployment is a priority.

"The unemployment rate is the highest in the country. We are an area rich in natural and human resources and we have the highest unemployment rate? That's outrageous," says Festeryga. "Jobs is number one. That's the key issue I'm campaigning on."

Festeryga is a life-long Essex County resident, currently living in Kingsville and is a practicing lawyer.

"I've represented seniors in my legal practice," says Festeryga. "I feel very strongly about our veterans and I'm really pleased the Liberal platform is to reopen the closed veterans affairs offices."

Festeryga, along with NDP candidate Tracey Ramsey, will challenge Conservative incumbent Jeff Watson for the seat in the upcoming federal election.
