High Marks For Sports Program

For the third year in a row, SportsBusiness International has ranked the University of Windsor's Master of Human Kinetics program in Sport Management one of the top 25 in the world.

The publication cites student satisfaction, class size, job support, and employment within three months of graduation. Associate Professor Jess Dixon says students graduate with good job prospects. "Out of our Masters Program, I would say, within six months 90% plus would be finding work within in the industry."

Dixon says there's a wide range of opportunities for graduates from working with major league sports teams, to employment in apparel companies.

He says the ranking has been good for the program. "We've known for a long time that we had a great program, but we never had a mechanism for comparing against other programs," he says. "With it has come some terrific exposure, and we're getting interest from students in places in the world where maybe previous we hadn't received interest."

The ranking started three years ago, and SportsBusiness will announce the top five schools in April.
