Luke Willson Helps LaSalle Sports

Playing off the Superbowl success of LaSalle's Luke Willson, special T-shirts are being sold to get local kids in the game.

With one in three Canadian families unable to afford sports for their kids, LaSalle Director of Culture and Recreation Terry Fink says this is an important initiative. "The young girl that wants to play basketball or hockey or maybe piano lessons, we find the source where that is going to take place," says Fink. "Then we work with that organization to pay for the registration and for that young lady to participate."

Fink says Willson approached the town after winning the Superbowl in 2014 asking how he can help grow sports programs in LaSalle. "It was a very unselfish approach that Luke had," says Fink. "He was really wanting to say 'I want to do anything I possibly can to help kids get involved in sport.'"

T-shirts can be purchased for $20 at the Vollmer Complex in LaSalle or at the Canadian Tire on Huron Church in Windsor.
