Amherstburg Mayor Aldo DiCarlo hopes financial training will help avoid a repeat of the mess the town got itself into during the last term of council.
DiCarlo says the training session included a thorough look at the town's current financial situation. "We are following the suggestions from the DeLoittte report, as far as education and training goes. This was a portion of that for council."
DiCarlo says at one point, the town had just $250,000 in reserves, which now stands closer to $6-million.
Council is expected to begin debating the 2015 budget next week.
