Budget Open For Public Comment

Windsor residents interested in crunching the numbers can voice their opinions on the 2015 budget at an upcoming meeting.

In 2015, the city plans to spend $98.5-million on capital projects.

Mayor Drew Dilkens says councillors with ideas of their own will have to find the money to do it. "The budget is approved by council so it's up to council to decide and certainly our goal was to say how can we come back with a (0% tax increase) for the seventh straight year in a row," says Dilkens. "Quite clearly, if someone wants to make a change to what's established today, they're going to have to find the dollars somewhere. So, what are you going to cut to do what you want to do?"

Some of the proposed 2015 expenses include $41-million on roads and sewers and $1.3-million on sidewalks.

The public budget deliberation meeting will be held on January 19.
