Kingsville Council is looking at approving $94,000 for an engineer's report on a problem drain through the Ruthven area.
Mayor Nelson Santos says the Esseltine Drain is a major line in the system and has been having waterflow issues.
"We're looking based on the concerns raised by ERCA and certainly the development's continued focus on introducing the new employment lands in the Ruthven area," says Santos. "This Esseltine Drain needs to have a full review to help address some of the concerns that we're having with the waterflow which is also creating some concerns regarding the continued pressure on the banks of the system, which some have been failing."
RC Spencer Associates Inc. out of Leamington is being recommended for the contract. The bill could climb up to $170,000 depending on the work that's need, but those costs will be split according to the Drainage Act.
