Willistead Park To Be Improved

The historic Willistead Park will soon be getting some improvements to its facade and functionality.

But first the public needs to see the plans and provide their feedback.

City Manager of Parks Development Mike Clement says the planned upgrades will include the entrance gates, fountain area and tree planting. "We haven't established a budget for the gates yet, so once we go through the process and as we refine it, we'll attached a number to it," says Clement. "(Whether) we're going to do some natural stone paving at the entranceways or we're going to do some benches. It's not going to be a huge cost per gate."

Clement says these improvements done by the end of 2015 or early 2016. The public still has two more chances to comment on the plans when they go before the Heritage Committee and Windsor City Council.
