Leamington Approves Transportation Plan

Leamington council is hoping you'll notice a better overall transportation system in the town when it comes to walking, cycling and driving. The town has approved a study that will cost $36,000, which will be split evenly between Leamington and the County of Essex. Leamington mayor John Paterson says the study will map out a plan to improve all modes of transportation with a focus on bike lanes and trails. "We've got trails going here, there and everywhere. We've got some marked roadways for bike lanes and those kinds of things," says Paterson. "This study is just going to try and pull everything together in Leamington, including bicycle racks." Paterson expects the study to be finished some time in 2015. He says many initiatives are already underway or complete and the study will ensure the town is on the right track.
