Spits Edge Battalion

The Windsor Spitfires took a close 5-4 win over the North Bay Battalion in OHL action Saturday night.

Both teams scored once in the first period, but the Spits were able to pull ahead in the second. Going into the final 20 minutes, Windsor was ahead 3-2. North Bay tied things up with just over seven minutes left in the game, but Windsor pulled ahead again with two goals. The Battalion scored once more with 33 seconds left, but it still left them one goal short.

Spitfires centre Aaron Luchuk was top scorer for the Spits with three goals. He says it felt great to double his goal total for the season.

"Six looks a lot better than three," he says. "So it was good to get those goals and get the team a win."

The Spitfires take on the North Bay Battalion once again on Thursday at 7pm.
