Spits Fall To Greyhounds

The Windsor Spitfires fell 8-5 to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds after an action packed third period.

During the game on Thursday night, the Greyhounds took a fast lead, scoring two goals in the first three minutes of game time. By the second period, the Spitfires only trailed by one goal, but the Greyhounds greatly extended their lead by three, to put them at 5-2 over Windsor. It was in the third period that Windsor made a comeback, scoring three goals to tie the game, with ten minutes left on the clock. However, it was short lived as the Greyhounds regained their momentum and scored three more goals of their own to take the win.

Slater Doggett, Cristiano DiGiacinto, Trevor Murphy, Markus Soberg and Ryan Moore each scored one goal of Windsor.

The Spitfires will take on the North Bay Battalion on Saturday at 7:05pm.
