Sting Downs Spitfires

The Sarnia Sting scored twice late in the third period to break a 3-3 tie and down the Spitfires in Windsor Thursday night.

To start the game, Sarnia took a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period before the Spits were able to score their first goal in the second. Windsor tied the game 3-3 by the mid point of the third period. However, the Sting scored a final two goals in the last six minutes to take the win. Despite the loss, Windsor out shot Sarnia 35-28.

Daniel Nikandrov, Nikita Korostelev, Hayden Hodgson, Kevin Spinozzi and Davis Brown each scored one goal for Sarnia. Slater Doggett was the top scorer for Windsor with two goals, and Logan Brown scored one.

The Spits are back on the ice on Friday to take on the Kitchener Rangers and the Sting take on the Erie Otters on Friday at 7:05pm.
