The Windsor Express basketball team is preparing to follow up its championship season.

Around half the team will consist of new faces this year with only seven players returning to training camp. The final team will be decided within the next week.

Head Coach Bill Jones says you can’t compare the team to last year’s championship team.

“When you start constructing [the team] you want to try and construct it to be better. Once you get in here you know you’re going to have some new guys,” he says. “Last year we had five or six guys that were with us from the year before and it was a little easier but now we have five or six new guys, so we’ve got to be able to teach again and let them know how we play.”

The Express play their season opener in London on November 1. The first home game and championship banner celebration will be November 7 when they take on the Brampton A’s.
