Spits Lose To Attack In OT

The Windsor Spitfires weren’t able to capitalize on an early lead, losing 5-4 to the Owen Sound Attack in overtime.

During Sunday’s game, the Spits started off strong with a 2-0 lead at the beginning of the second period. Owen Sound was able to score two goals of their own in the second to tie the game. Windsor answered back with another two goals to take a 4-2 lead into the third. In the final 20 minutes, Owen Sound netted two more forcing OT, where they scored the game winner.

Sam Povorozniouk was Windsor’s top scorer with two goals. Cristiano DiGiacinto and Luke Kirwan each scored one.

The Windsor Spitfires take on the Plymouth Whalers on Thursday at 7:05pm.
