Spitfires Down Spirit

The Windsor Spitfires battled it out with the Saginaw Spirit to take a 8-5 win at the WFCU Centre.

During Thursday’s game, the Spits came out of the gate strong scoring three goals in just over six minutes. The first period ended with a 4-1 lead for Windsor. The second period saw Saginaw repeat the Spits performance, scoring three goals and making it a 4-4 tie game going into the third. In the final period, Windsor was able to regain their momentum and score three more goals over one from the Spirit, to end the game 8-5.

Windsor was also able to out-shoot Saginaw 45-34.

Josh Ho-Sang and Slater Doggett were Windsor’s top scorers with two goals each. Chris Marchese, Logan Brown, Trevor Murphy, and Mark Manchurek each scored one.

The Spitfires return to the ice on Saturday against the Barrie Colts at 7:30pm.
