Slow Cab Foils Alleged Thief

Windsor police are not amused after one of their cruisers was sprayed with mustard.
Police say a taxi cab, travelling southbound on Ouellette Ave., picked up a man around 2:15am Sunday. As the cab drove slowly past a police cruiser, a suspect seated in the backseat with a yellow mustard container sprayed the vehicle on the driver’s door and hood.
The cab didn’t get very far. Heavy traffic forced it to stop, and the officers arrested the suspect.
Their investigation revealed a hot dog vendor reported a missing mustard container and provided police with a description of the thief.
A 25-year-old Belle River man faces mischief and theft charges.
