The Windsor Spitfires received a crushing blow on the ice after losing 9-2 against the Sarnia Sting.

For the first two periods the Spits remained scoreless. It wasn’t until the third period when Mark Manchurek and Chris Marchese scored the team’s two goals at the RBC Centre in Sarnia.

Brendan Johnston gave up eight goals before being relieved by Alex Fotinos for the final period.

The Spitfires have lost four games and won two games this season.

The Spits take on the Saginaw Spirit next at the WFCU Centre on Thursday.
