The Windsor Stars are hoping to keep Toronto FC Academy from clinching the inaugural League1 Ontario championship on their home turf.

Windsor hosts the undefeated MLS-affiliate tonight at the McHugh Soccer Complex at 7pm.

After recently beating second-placed Vaughan Azzurri, Stars Interim Head Coach Vancho Cirovski says his team is confident.

“I think we’re going to be a fair contest for them [TFC Academy],” says Cirovski. “They beat us 2-0 away, but now we’ve got home field advantage, a little more confidence, and some support from our fans. I think we can surprise them.”

At 6-1-6 on the season, Cirovski says this game is also important because the Stars are still battling for the league cup.
