Speeder Headed To Taco Bell
It’s not the response Windsor police officers typically get when they ask a driver allegedly speeding while drunk through city streets.
Around 1:30am Tuesday, officers on routine patrol spotted a 2010 GMC Canyon pickup truck speeding westbound on Hanna St. E near Howard Ave. The driver didn’t stop at the stop sign and fish-tailed as the vehicle made a hard left-hand turn, striking the curb.
The officers activated the lights on their cruiser and gave chase, but instead of pulling over, the driver allegedly floored it. Officers finally pulled the driver over on Mercer St., and when they asked the driver what he was doing, he said he was going to Taco Bell.
A 38-year-old Windsor man is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusing to provide an adequate breath sample for analysis.
