Leamington Manager Recovering From Crash

Leamington Manager of Culture and Recreation Amanda Smith continues to recover in hospital after being injured in a crash.

Smith was airlifted to London hospital, where she continues to recover, after a collision near St. Thomas last week.

In the meantime, Leamington is making plans for Smith’s recovery, moving Director Tracy Pillon-Abbs to a direct managerial role at the Leamington Kinsmen Rec Complex and Leamington Marina. “We’re certainly sending out thoughts and prayers to Amanda and hoping for a speedy recovery. In the meantime, the department has a very strong team both at the marina and at the Kinsmen rec complex.”

Smith was in a Dodge Durango with her husband and her husband’s brother when it was hit by a car. The driver of the other vehicle, a 19-year-old Stratford woman, was charged with careless driving.
