Corn Festival Continues Tradition

The 39th annual Tecumseh Corn Festival kicks off tonight with the Miss Tecumseh pageant.

Entertainment continues throughout the weekend with lots of local bands, vendors and carnival rides. Headlining Friday night’s concert is Canadian band Down With Webster and Saturday night Suzie McNeil will take the stage. Daily admission to the festival is $2, children under 12 and seniors over 65 are free.

Chair Deputy Mayor Cheryl Hardcastle says they work hard to make the festival fun and affordable for families of all kinds. “Every day, almost every hour there’s different types of entertainment. We really draw on a lot of local variety for entertainment whether it’s country and western, whether it’s light-hearted comedy magic show or children’s entertainers.”

Despite the large fire last month, Bonduelle continues to be a major sponsor of the event with corn and financial contributions.
