Armed Robber Attacks Elderly Woman

A 70-year-old woman is recovering after she was allegedly held up in broad daylight by a man with a knife on a busy downtown Windsor street.
While waiting for the bus in the 600-block of Ouellette Ave. Monday afternoon, police say the woman was attacked by a man who tried to steal her purse. She suffered a cut on her nose when the man punched her in the face. According to authorities, witnesses pushed the suspect into a wall where he dropped the purse before he ran away.
Police describe the suspect as:
– a white man in his mid-30s with a chubby face and blondish short hair
– was approximately 250lbs
– wearing a black t-shirt and grey cargo shorts.
