Housing Sales Increase Third Straight Month

The association that tracks housing sales in Windsor-Essex says 603 homes changed hands in July, an increase of 18.24%.

July marks the third straight month of month-to-month increases. The Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors says the year-to-date deficit continues to be close with July’s numbers down only .29%.

The average price of a home also increased from July of last year. Home buyers paid on average $202,971, an increase of 9.4%. The year-to-date average price is up 5.37% from this time last year.

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation is expected to release housing start figures Monday.
