The Windsor Express is looking for a new three year contract that includes the provisions of last year’s contract with some additional requests.

The team is looking for permanent office and practice space, permanent advertising at the WFCU Centre and a waiver of the $4000 per game fee. They say if the game fee is waived they would be willing to forfeit the portion of the concession sales that the team was awarded last year.

City staff would like to revert to the first year’s contract that included a $4500 game fee and no concession revenue. They also point out that the Windsor Spitfires currently have exclusive advertising rights to the facility.

Councillors will be asked to provide direction at tonight’s council meeting.
