Establishing Office in Windsor

The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority is busy getting its office established in Windsor before getting down to the business of building a new border crossing.

The WDBA is a not-for profit Crown Corporation that will manage the procurement process for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the new bridge.

Newly appointed CEO Michele Cautillo says there are still many steps to take before a shovel goes in the ground. “The pre-procurement activities, land acquisition, the design of the various elements of the project and then the actual procurement process. It’s roughly a four to five year construction period so that’s the broad timelines.”

Cautillo says the goal is to have the bridge built by 2020.
