The Windsor Stars stepped out onto the field at Cass Technical High School to taunts from 3,020 Detroit City FC fans.

“Windsor, come out and play,” echoed across the pitch from the supporters group, the Northern Guard, to where the players ran onto the field.

“It was amazing,” says David Kadoic, a midfielder for the Stars. “Just the atmopshere, it’s why I got into soccer in the first place; you feel the energy, you feel the crowd. Three thousand people are a lot of people so, there was a little bit of pressure, but when the game got going you concentrate so much you kind of forget about it.”

“It was intense,” says Kyle Vizirakis, the Stars’ goalkeeper. “I’ve never played in front of something like that. The fans didn’t stop. I think it motivated us, never having played in this atmosphere, and we came out to play.”

The friendly match ended 0-0 and was the last match of the season for Detroit City FC while the Windsor Stars still have half of the League1 Ontario season to play.
