The head coach of the Windsor Stars is stepping down.

Steve Vagnini had his resignation accepted by the team’s board after leading the Stars in four seasons including the squad’s first steps in the newly established League1 Ontario.

“No one works harder than Steve Vagnini for soccer in this community,” says Vancho Cirovski, the Windsor Stars president making the comment in a press release. “He will be missed on the Stars bench. We know he needs to take time to re-energize and we support that.”

The Stars are going to reassess the coaching situation in the coming week as the team still has eight league games along with a number of cup games left in the season.
