Windsor’s Miah-Marie Langlois is trying out for Team Canada.
The former Windsor Lancers’ basketball star played with the senior women’s national team in Brazil and has been invited back for training camp in August. Langlois says she’s trilled about the opportunity, “We were training for an entire month in Edmonton. I got to go back in August and then we’re going to Spain and Turkey to play against some teams. It’s a job now.”
Langlois won four national women’s basketball championships with the Lancers, and was named OUA and CIS Defensive Player of the Year twice in that span.
The Windsor native is also set to play basketball professionally in Sweden after signing a contract with Northland Basket Lulea, which sees her there until 2016.
