New Beginnings in Windsor is helping 240 young people find summer employment.

The Summer Jobs For Youth Program aims to help kids between ages 16 and 18 find a field they might be interested in for the future.

Executive Director Mary Kay Morand says it also helps fight unemployment figures, which are high in Windsor, and even higher amongst youth. “It’s very, very important to engage youth in meaningful employment experiences so they can be motivated in life to continue to make those good choices.”

There are 110 local businesses involved in the jobs for youth program, which is in its eighth year.
