New Windsor Garbage Bylaw

Windsor residents must now use hard sided garbage pails to put their garbage in.

Starting today, garbage collectors will not pick-up any garbage at the side of the road that is not in a pail or bin.

Manager of Environmental Services Anne Marie Albidone says they are giving residents a month of grace time before any fines are assessed. “We’re going to try to contact those homeowners, perhaps they were not aware of the bylaw change or didn’t quite understand what it meant. So we’re going to try and contact those homeowners and make sure that they’re aware of it so they can comply for the next collection.”

Garbage must also be stored in bins with lids in between pick-ups.
