LTC Starting Admissions This Summer
The Village at St. Clair long-term care home is expected to start admissions July 28.
A report to the Erie St. Clair LHIN board states construction of the 256 bed long-term care facility is scheduled to be completed Monday, June 30.
Senior Director with the LHIN Ralph Ganter says the opening of this facility will have far reaching affects on the entire system. “As patients begin to migrate into the Schlegel home, it in a sense opens up capacity in the complex continuing care and allows for better flow. So really, all the way up to the emergency department we should be seeing, we are anticipating improved flows.”
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care will be in the region July 15 and 16 to review the facility. Ganter expects that process to go smoothly and for the facility to be issued a license shortly after that review.
