The first ever South Coast Adventure Race kicks off this morning at Holiday Beach and will take participants over five hours to complete.

The race hosted by the Essex Region Conservation Authority is 70km long and spokesperson Danielle Breault-Stuebing says it includes several different components.

“Racers will have eight hours to trek, paddle, obstacle, orienteering, through a course that’s designed to show off some of Essex County’s greatest features.”

Breault-Stuebing says it’s different than a triathlon because there’s no set route, the racer determine the way they’ll reach each checkpoint. The event is a fundraiser for ERCA and the Rotary Club of Windsor St. Clair.
