Rescued Man Wanted By Police

You could call it a close call for a man who had fallen into the Detroit River early Tuesday morning, and a lucky save for police.

Two Windsor police officers called the U.S. Coast Guard just before 2:30am when they heard a man yelling for help on the American side of the Detroit River. A man was clinging to a rope attached to the seawall just south of the Ambassador Bridge.

A rescue vessel was launched from Coast Guard Station Belle Isle and the man was transported to safety.

However, it turns out there is a warrant for the man’s arrest. Michigan State Police will take him into custody once he is released from the hospital.
