A 20-year-old Windsor man faces a charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after a vehicle struck a church in east Windsor.

A fully marked Windsor police cruiser was stopped at a red light at Central Ave. and Seminole St. around 3:15am this morning when they heard the sound of an engine revving. A silver Dodge Calibre, headed westbound, sped by in front of the cruiser, so the officer gave chase.

Three minutes later, the car hit the Fuente de Vida church at Albert Rd. and Seminole St. Damage is estimated at $20,000.

Police arrested the driver. Nobody was hurt, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
