The Windsor Stars are starting their first League1 Ontario season strong, staying undefeated with a 4-0 win in their home opener over Toronto International at McHugh Park.

“Just two errors that they had,” says Gino Berardi, the Stars striker notching two goals in the contest. “Their goalkeeper made an error and I capitalized. Their defender made an error and I capitalized.”

Erik Cirovski and Mike Pio scored the other goals for the Stars in the second straight clean sheet for the team.

“Think it definitely helps everyone in the back, the younger guys,” says Anthony Santilli, the Stars captain and goalkeeper. “I’m just there to calm guys down and I think keeping two clean sheets definitely helps the whole team.”

The Stars have two wins and a draw on the season and next play at McHugh Park for 7pm against ANB Futbol on June 21.
