Windsor Stars Head Coach Steve Vagnini says his team put in a dominate performance against Toronto International, but couldn’t put away their chances in a 2-2 draw in the team’s first ever game in League1 Ontario.

“Today, I think we were our own worst enemy. I think we beat ourselves today,” says Vagnini. “When [the players] came off the field with their heads down and just livid at themselves, I knew they knew.”

“We created the opportunities, we just couldn’t put the ball in the net. You don’t put a ball in the next when you dominate a team, it keeps them in the game,” says Vagnini. “We’re not sharp yet. We’re doing everything right, but we got to do everything just a little quicker.”

The Windsor Stars will next face ANB Futbol on the road near Richmond Hill on Saturday ahead of their home opener at the McHugh Soccer Complex in Windsor on June 14.
