Stars Looking For Magic

The Windsor Stars soccer team is getting ready for its inaugural campaign in the newly created League1 Ontario with the Stars’ first game set for Saturday in Toronto and Team Director Vancho Cirovski is looking to create some magic.
“We’re building the McHugh Soccer Complex to build that energy and passion that everybody enjoys around soccer, but hasn’t been able to say ‘this is our home, this is where we’re going to be,'” says Cirovski. “We want to create some magic here.”
“Right now we’re envious of what’s happening across the river,” says Cirovski, pointing to Detroit City FC as a successful soccer team playing in a similiar league to League1 Ontario and drawing upwards of 3,000 fans to its home games. “We want people to come out, enjoy it and really put their hearts into it.”
The Stars are one of the ten founding teams of League1 Ontario which is meant to help develop players ranging in age from their late teens to early 20s. The team’s first game is on the road against Toronto International before their home opener at McHugh Field on June 14 with kick-off set for 7pm.
