Mickey Renaud Trophy To Matt Finn

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Matt Finn is this year’s recipient of the Mickey Renaud Captain’s Trophy.

The trophy is named after the Windsor Spitfires captain who died in February 2008 of the rare heart condition hypertrophic cardiomyopathy at the age of 18. At the time, he was a 5th round draft pick for the Calgary Flames.

Finn, who played for the Guelph Storm for four years and two years as captain, was chosen by a media selection committee as the OHL team captain who best exemplifies leadership on and off the ice.

The trophy will be formally presented to Finn at the OHL Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 3 at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
