Major Cocaine Bust At Bridge

The Canada Border Services Agency is reporting a major drug seizure at the Blue Water Bridge, said to be one of the largest ever in the Sarnia area.
In a news release Tuesday the agency says over 123 kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $12.3-million was found concealed in a pickup truck May 6.
The truck was referred for secondary examination at the Port Huron-Point Edward crossing during which a detector dog indicated positively for suspected narcotics.
RCMP Sergeant Peter Koersvelt says over a hundred bricks of suspected cocaine were found concealed in side panels in the bed of the pick up.
The RCMP arrested and charged two men from Stoney Creek, Ont. with importing a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They’re also charged with conspiracy to import a controlled substance under the criminal code.
Both men are in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Sarnia court Friday. (May 16)
