Essex County law enforcement has another successful Special Olympics Torch Run under its belt.

Officers from Essex County OPP, Windsor, LaSalle and Amherstburg police services, and the Canadian Border Service Agency participated in the annual county-wide run raising money for Special Olympics.

Organizer Constable Adam Young with the Windsor Police Service says he was impressed with the amount of support this year. “It was a great day for running, I didn’t trip or fall so that was awesome. The athletes did a really good job, they led the way and everyone was smiling the whole time.”

Last year, the run raised $1.5-million across Ontario for Special Olympics.
