Windsor Rally Targets Predatory Lending

Organizers of a rally in downtown Windsor want Ottawa to end what it calls predatory lending and making basic banking service available to more low-income Canadians.

The rally outside the Money Mart at the corner of Wyandotte St. and Ouellette Ave. starts at 4:30pm today.

Organizers will also circulate a petition asking the federal government to force big banks to open branches in low-income neighbourhoods, and grant Canada Post a limited banking charter so it can offer basic banking at its 6,500 branches across Canada.
