Rainy Downtown Clean-up

Volunteers pick up their gear to help clean-up the city centre.

Downtown Windsor should look a little cleaner today after over 100 volunteers took to the streets to pick up litter.

Downtown businesses, community groups and residents donned rain coats and gloves to come together as part of a city-wide clean sweep.

Bob Cameron with the downtown residents association says he is leading by example hoping more people will take pride in downtown. “It’s been a long, cold winter. Stuffs collected, it’s just good to clean it up. It’s one of the incremental steps we can all take. Just throw a ton of these together one on top of the other and it keeps downtown a good place.”

The City of Windsor provided garbage bags, gloves and clean-up equipment for the day and many downtown businesses donated refreshments for the volunteers.
