Library And Maghnieh Settle Lawsuit

The lawsuit filed by the Windsor Public Library against Windsor city councillor Al Maghnieh has been settled to “the mutual satisfaction of both parties.”

Maghnieh’s lawyer, Adam Paglione, confirms a $20,000 claim was filed in small claims court to cover the cost of an audit after Maghnieh,┬áthe former library board chair, ran up $13,000 on a corporate credit card in 2012. Paglione won’t say how much the settlement is worth, citing a confidentiality agreement.

Paglione says it’s the end of a chapter in Maghnieh’s life. “He’s looking forward and hopefully he can put it behind him and move forward, progress through his career.”

Maghnieh paid back all the expenses on the credit card and agreed to pay for the audit. So far, he’s only made a partial payment of $1,200.
