Express Set For Seven

Windsor Express Head Coach Bill Jones, April 1, 2014.

The Windsor Express have the chance to be crowned NBL Canada champions tonight, as they host the Island Storm in game seven of the finals.

Express Head Coach Bill Jones says this is exactly where his team wanted to be when they kicked off the season back in November. “We played the whole year to get ourselves home court advantage in a game seven, and that’s what it’s about. It was a game seven against London and it’s a game seven for all the marbles. So we’ve got to get ourselves ready to play 48 minutes of inspired basketball.”

Instead of game-planning against particular Storm players, Jones says the Express have gone back to playing their basic defensive schemes over the last few games. He says that’s allowed them to climb back in the series, down 3-1 after game four.

Tip off is set for 7pm at the WFCU Centre in Windsor.
