High Honour for Former Spitfire

Former Windsor Spitfire and Assistant Coach D.J. Smith has been named Coach of the Year by the OHL.
Smith has been the coach with the Oshawa Generals for two years.
He’s credited with leading the team to their first East Division title since the 1990/91 season.
Smith was the assistant and associate coach with the Spitfires from 2005-2012 and played as a defenceman for the team from 1994-1997.
