Eliminating Disability Wait Lists
About 21,000 people with developmental disabilities in Windsor-Essex will no longer have to wait for direct funding from the province.
Over the next two years, the Special Services At Home program wait list will be eliminated, and in four years, the passport program for adults wait list should be gone.
In addition to this move, the Ontario government is looking to provide more funding for agencies and front-line workers in the community services sector.
It also hopes to promote community living partnerships through expanded Host Family and Supported Independent Living programs.
