A 59-year-old man is facing a charge of aggravated assault and uttering threats following a stabbing and standoff in Windsor’s east end.

Police say officers were called to an apartment building in the 200-block of Lauzon Rd. around 5am on Sunday. Investigation revealed a 49-year-old man had been stabbed in the hallway following an arguement with another tenant.

The suspect locked himself inside another unit in the building and refused to leave. After over 10 hours of negotiations the suspect surrendered and was arrested.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
