Men’s Health Campaign Raises $5.4M

The It's In Your Jeans campaign by the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre Foundation raised $5.4M for the new Dr. Richard Boyd Regional Comprehensive Men's Health Program.

The It’s In Your Jean Campaign is officially wrapped up after raising $5.4-million for men’s health care.

The money raised by the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre Foundation will purchase the equipment for new Regional Comprehensive Men’s Health Program. The centre will be named after Dr. Richard Boyd, the former head of urology at Windsor Regional Hospital who died suddenly in 2008.

Co-Chair of the campaign Bob Copeland says he knew the community would step up. “The original goal was about $4-million two years ago but as I indicated we always try to surpass the goal because we always need some extra capital to make things really better for the program.”

The highly coveted da Vinci Robot should be arriving at the hospital soon with the first surgery expected in September.
