The Ontario Provincial Police in Sudbury has a Leamington man and a Windsor woman in custody after a wild chase on Hwy. 17.
A motorist called the OPP complaining about a possible drunk driver just after 10pm Wednesday night, but when officers tried to pull the vehicle over west of Webbwood, the driver kept going.
At times, speeds in the chase reached 130km/hr, but it came to an abrupt stop in the village of Massey when the vehicle hit a fire hydrant.
Jorge James McConnell, 26, of Leamington faces a list of charges including two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fleeing police. His passenger, 19-year-old Angel Lynn Osborne of Windsor faces one charge, possession of property obtained by crime.
