Charges In Pierre Ave. AssaultApril 4, 2014 12:13pm
A 34-year-old Windsor man is charged after a three-hour standoff in the 600-block of Pierre Ave. earlier this week.
Police cordoned off a duplex after receiving a call about a woman, bleeding from her head walking into traffic at Pierre and Wyandotte St.E. She was treated in hospital for non-life threatening head injuries and police arrested a suspect three hours later.
The investigation reveals the woman went to the duplex to see the suspect, but when she knocked on the door, he allegedly pulled her inside and punched her in the head. The woman told officers he blocked the door preventing her escape, but eventually she made a run for it.
